We can leave the house!!!

Now that we are out of the house - we have lots more energy and have made lots of friends! Last week, we went to the outlet mall and had a great time going in and out of stores.

We also have been slowly getting out visiting friends. Our first play date was with our friends, Clay and Kim and their twin boys Alex and Owen! We had a great time at their house and the children even napped! Yesterday, we went shopping and had lunch with the Mary and her triplets. All six children were remarkably well behaved. Both of these trips have given me the confidence that we can do it again and again! I forgot to take pictures of our first playdate together, but I'm sure there will be many more!

At home, we have lots more energy and like to play in our exersaucer and jumpy seats. The boys can sit on their own for a little bit longer. All of them like to stand. Emily did a move that looked like a frog on Saturday (she put her knees in front of her and lurched forward). It was great! They all roll over often from their backs to tummies and from their tummies to sides. They also love playing in their ball pit (as you can see from the picture). I feel like there are new firsts every day - it makes us smile!!!!

When we came home from the outlet mall, our children did not want to nap. This is so unusual, we laughed and had to film it. Enjoy!!!!

Post-Florida

We had a great time seeing our family in Florida. Unfortunately, we forgot we had the camera for most of the trip. Please forgive us - we have so few pictures. Hopefully Will's family took a few more and can send them to us!!!

We went to Will's family first. Veroniuq and I spent the day with Jen and Isy - enjoying lunch, while Joan and Gail helped take care of the children. They had a really cool swing the children loved! The rehearsal dinner and wedding were absolutely wonderful. Jen looked stunning, and we can see great happiness in their newly blended family. We look forward to spending more time with them next visit!

We went to my parents on Sunday evening. We went to the nursing home and saw Grandma each day. She loved spending time with them. It was very touching. We also invited a few our parent's neighbors over to visit with the children. The babies loved being held by so many gentle loving hands!

The trip felt very short - but the drive was long. It took about 12 hours each way, including stopping for diaper changes and feedings. The children did as well as could be expected, but it was exhausting for all of us.

During the trip, Emily moved into her own crib. She has stayed that way. She would sleep until 10 if we let her. She is such a great sleeper. The boys are still in the same crib and seem to draw strength from each other. They'll move to their own cribs sometime soon.

We are loving watching them grow and change every day. They love to talk and reach for things. They are ready to crawl, except their feet and knees forget to stay on the ground. The boys can stay in a seated position for about 25-30 seconds, and Emily is just a little bit less. She is faster at moving if you brace her feet. She likes to push against you. Daniel loves his jumpy seat and will move his feet all around to make himself move.

Emily tried her first sweet potatoes (Nathan had a little taste, too) after we got back. You can see a picture of her. We'll start feeding them more baby food at 6 months (May 7th), but we are encouraging Emily to eat by offering her veggies she should love.
The video is just a small grouping of pictures.

That's all for now. Have a lovely day! Push play to see a slide show of all pictures.

Pre-Florida

We are very excited about our upcoming trip to Florida. We need to do everything we can to keep us healthy until then. We took a lovely walk outside in the 75 degree weather! Wow. I can't believe it will drop 20 degrees again tomorrow! We are working on developing a more structured schedule with crib naps in the afternoon.

The children are working on touching things (they hit at the fixtures to make music and grab things). The boys are working on crawling. Their feet don't always touch the ground but they look like they are trying hard! They only move when our hands are against their feet. They all rotate in circles, though. Emily loves to hold herself up (head and feet) and walk on us. She's doing push-ups now - at least top half push-ups. Daniel and Emily are talking more. It sounds like they are having conversations with us. Nathan always looks like he is studying the way things work.

I hope you like the pictures. Nathan and Emily are looking in the mirror in the first picture. I took the picture of the three on their tummies. I found them this way one morning. Will took the adorable picture of the three together. We'll have lots more after we get back from the trip!
I forgot. We went to the doctor last week. Emily weighed in at 11 1/2 pounds, Daniel at 13 1/2 pounds, and Nathan at 14 pounds 1 ounce. They are really getting big! He is happy with their progress and he'll probably start us on foods at their six month appt in May. They turn 5 months on Saturday.

New Post Coming

Hi all,
We have had laptop trouble and are in the process of buying a new one. Therefore the pictures I have for the next blog will have to be postponed. We go to the doctor on Thursday for the rest of their 4 month shots and a weight check, so I will put the pictures and updates together on Friday.

We did take them to the mall on Friday. I needed a new dress and found one with the help of friends! We found lots of attention and two other triplet moms! It is a small world, as we never left Macys.

All of them have been in the jumper and the bouncy seat and have enjoyed them as long as they have energy. Emily loves looking at the decorations, Nathan looks at how the jumper works, and Daniel was pushing the sound button. It's funny to watch what they notice!

Yea!!!!

Wow - what a busy week.

The children had their last RSV shot. WHEW! These shots are thick and hurt! Nathan was very lucky. They use the baby's weight to determine dosage. His was .91. Anything over 1.0 would have required a second needle. Being that he cries the most at the shots and has gotten black and blue, I am thrilled he only needed one! They have graduated and shouldn't need the pulminologist again.

We also went today for hearing tests. The audiologist stuck something in their ears and it measures and evaluates their hearing. They all had passing scores. Unless they start to get ear infections often and the doctor feels it might impact their hearing, we are done with them, too! Now if they don't listen to me when their toddlers, I can't use hearing as an excuse! yea!

We also took a walk in the park with our friend Denise and her 3 month old daughter. That was lovely. If only we could have a few more nice days, we would be in heaven.

This is a rare occurrence. All are sleeping - two in swings and one in the crib. We took out the exersaucer today. Although it is too early, Nathan has been really trying to stand and climb when we hold him. I put him in and held his head gently so he wouldn't fall forward. He loved it. There were so many things to look at and he moved a little up and down (though he didn't realize it). I also bounced him gently in it and he laughed. So cute! We'll have to take pictures next week.

4 months!

Wow - how can it be that fourth months are gone? They are so big. I don't see the growth day to day, but when you look back at pictures....WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We took them to the doctor on Friday. They are definitely growing! Emily weighed 10 lbs. 14 oz., Daniel was 12 lbs. 7 oz. and Nathan was not quite 13 pounds (12 lbs. 15 3/4 oz.). Nathan was between the 10-25%ile for their actual age and even Emily was on the chart at 5%ile. None of them are on the chart for height, but they were very close we were told.

Their ears were fine - no more infection. We go for their hearing tests next Friday and we hope that will be their last one. They also have their last RSV shot on Wednesday. They are not looking forward to it. Nor are we.

We plan to go to Florida next month for Will's sister's wedding. We are very excited as this will be our family's first trip (and Veroniuq's first time in Florida). We hope they stay healthy until then so we can go!

We are open for visitors. We still have to be hesitant about children under 12 b/c of the flu and RSV. Luckily, the season is winding down and we will be open to everything (no illnesses of course) in just a couple of weeks! We are beginning to have outings with children - but we just have to be careful. We look forward to when we can be relaxed!

Pictures- The top picture features Emily and Daniel having a conversation. The second features Daniel and Nathan (Nathan looks taller b/c Daniel is not standing). The third is our whole family (kids - Nathan, Emily and Daniel). I also tried to put a video of Emily smiling on. I'm not sure it worked.

On the other side

It has been a long couple of weeks. The children had colds, which turned into ear infections. So we are now on antibiotics - their first medication (besides Zantac). When we finish that, we'll have their four month checkup! Wow - time goes so fast. One night, the babies slept til 5:45. It was a dream. Unfortunately, it hasn't happened again - but there is always hope!

They have really grown over the last few weeks. They all coo and smile. They love to watch the mobiles and lying on the activity mats. Each have their distinct interests. Daniel LOVES the mobile, while Emily LOVES the mirror. She'll talk to the mirror for up to an hour. She smiles and coos. I guess she wants another girl around. I'm holding Nathan right now. He loves to get up before the others an hang out with me one-on-one. He also cannot get enough food. Since he surpassed his brother, he is on a race with himself. He stares at things with such intensity that he looks so serious. Then he gives a big grin.

We've been using the can of formula with rice starch, but we're switching to the rice cereal in regular formula today, so it will be interesting to see how they enjoy that. I can't believe we are already at rice. How do they grow up so fast! I need to take more pictures. I got a great video of Emily talking to herself yesterday but I can't put that up. I'll put up more pictures next week for their 4 months.
